Several members of the Year 3 Youth Leadership Training program
(YLTP) group are helping St. James Anglican Church in Dundas to collect
wheelchairs, walkers and other medical devices for the people of Kurdistan.
The
Kurds are an ethnic group living in the intersection of Iran, Iraq, Syria and
Turkey, where they face varying levels of discrimination from ISIL and other
terrorist groups. They are mostly Sunni Muslims, but there are also Christians
and Yazidis among their population.
They need our help!
If you or a neighbour has a walker or wheel
chair or other medical devices that are no longer needed, please consider
donating to this project. St James is
fundraising to cover shipment costs , with a dinner and silent auction on March
25.
Contact Nancy McBride (YLTP year 3 co-leader)
for more details.
